Funding this project will impact math for the entire elementary school in the most positive way! I am a Math Specialist in an Elementary School. I like to think of myself as a teacher for teachers. I also work with all of our students that need that extra boost in math because they are just having a hard time. In order to properly do my job, I need a laptop that can keep up. The laptop is used to virtually teach my students and teachers. Through the laptop, I can use my document camera to teach lessons using a plethora of math manipulatives. Students need to be able to see the math in order to make sense of it. It is the use of the manipulatives and my ability to teach them through zoom that helps them understand math. My current computer often overheats or lags and I am unable to finish my lesson with the students. Fulfilling this project will help me reach students and build their capacity for learning math.
