The importance of the items chosen for these life lessons is to teach girls between the ages of 14 to 18 how to work and compete as a team. Items like the Go Pro Camera will give girls a visual of their plays and choices on and off the field. Bucket of softballs, batting gloves, and possible new uniforms.
To help them to see how hard work and dedication can pay off when she hits a grand slam over the fence to help her team win a championship game. For her to be able to relive that feeling of accomplishment, to see how she was able to break down the batting instructions and put them back together to make them her own to hit the ball that hard. How to strike out and come back the next turn to bat and hit the ball to earn a run. To learn how to function as a unit but still be true to how there are as individuals. To learn about their strengths and weakness, to learn how to complete mental and physical hard work within the game of softball. The girl's team will be introduced to the process of writing cover letters, resumes, filling out college applications, interviews with college recruiters and coaches for the top Division I and Division II schools. Working towards how to prepare for college and knowing how to study hard, and still work hard on the field to be the best of their ability. To learn how to overcome defeat and mistakes, and constructive criticism and still work hard and be proud of their character and hard work to only use the information to better themselves as a student, athlete and to go into being a leader and role model for other young girls.
