Wiggle cushions, wiggle seats, stool seats, kick bands for chairs, and fidgets will all be used to support students with ADD, ADHD, and Autism by providing them with an outlet for their kinetic energy while allowing them to focus their minds to the learning in the classroom.
The iPads will greatly benefit students with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities that are working on lower level goals including learning the alphabet and phonics with the user-friendly designs and free access games that are proprietary to Apple. Students are familiar with the software due to technology available at home, so the learning curve by using iPads rather than Chromebooks is superior for these select students.
Finally, TIME for Kids and other reading materials will greatly benefit all students as we live in isolated rural community without local nightly news. Many students rely on social media and overheard conversations for their understanding of current events. With the TIME for Kids subscription, students both online and in the classroom will have a reliable source to learn about current events and support efforts to increase their overall reading fluency and reading comprehension.
