Although our community is small, the teens of Augusta still live there many hardships. From living on the edge of homelessness, living with relatives who struggle with addiction, to surviving sexual assault. With suicide rates rising each year, I am genuinely concerned with the livelihood of my students. I would like to share inspirational stories, from other teens, who have survived difficult situations. Byron did a great job collection stories from teens across the country. These teens have overcome bullying, addiction, assaults, poverty, and so many more hardships than even imaginable. I want to ingrain a sense of hope in my students, and teaching them that life can, and will get better. Life IS worth living.
