Imagine exploring Antarctica or the rainforest from inside the classroom. With Google Expeditions, teachers can take students on immersive, virtual journeys to anywhere. These materials will open up not only the world, but the universe as well. Each student will use a cell phone and virtual reality viewer to travel to locations they've learned about in school. The teacher will guide the student experience using the tablet, with 12 students participating at one time. Instead of learning about the Great Barrier Reef from a text book, students will explore it, observing animals and the environment around them. With these tools, students could “visit” anywhere in the world, virtually, including places that they learned about in Social Studies or habitats they learned about in Science, while developing appreciation of and empathy for other people and places. By donating to our project, you will allow students to experience so many people and places in our world, allowing them to make real connections to their learning.
