It has been a wild year already, for me and for so many others. I started as a special education para professional, then found out I was going to be covering a maternity leave for the first two months, to then becoming a full time, in person teacher. Since I have not previously had my own classroom, I do not have the supplies needed to equip a classroom, especially a classroom during a pandemic. The supplies and items I have selected are essential classroom materials like crayons, math materials and paper, but are also supplies to help keep the students and myself as safe as possible. By having their own individual supplies and resources, my students will be able to complete their work and be successful, while still feeling safe. With so many restrictions, I still want to give my students the best school year possible. I want the classroom to be a safe space for the students and for it to feel as normal as possible. Feeling safe and comfortable in the classroom is an essential part of successful learning. By donating to my project and my classroom, you will not only help my students to feel safe and comfortable in their classroom, but give them the tools and supplies they need to learn and have academic success during this strange and unusual school year.
