This year I am working as an intervention teacher with students who need extra support with their education. These students are required to do both online classes with their regular teacher, then show up for small group sessions with me. My 35 2nd graders come from low-income families, and most of them are learning English as a second language. The majority of them live in multi-family homes sharing rooms with multiple siblings. Most of them have a hard time finding a quiet place to do their online classes; however, they still show up with smiles on their faces and ready to learn. The motivation and determination these students show motivate me to guide them and give them the best education I can.
