The materials I am requesting are instruments for an Aztec dance class. This is a unique class that allows students to explore their native culture through music, art and dance performance. This class truly comes alive when students have access to drums, leg instruments, hand rattles and traditional costumes. The elaborate costumes use feathers, and students learn to make the costumes by hand. This class teaches students about their native culture, while giving them an opportunity to enhance their performance skills. The class involves drumming, dancing, costume design, and song. We will also have a virtual visit from the artisan who makes the instruments.
