My students lost their headphones with microphones in a fire that happened in one portion of our school. They need these microphones in order to participate in language learning software that will help them develop their English language skills. The software is individualized for each student and their needs as they develop language. These headphones mean the difference in improving their English language literacy in 2nd grade, where they are still learning to read, and their English language literacy in 3rd where they will begin reading to learn. They will also utilize these headphones to record themselves reading, and begin sharing digital stories with their classmates to increase their confidence in their spoken language. In addition to all of the incredible learning we will utilize these headphones for. They will also enable my students to participate in their ELPT assessment at the end of the year.
