Due to furniture rearrangement this year, I have removed a lot from my classroom. Now that I am into the swing of things, I have a great place to add a Zen Zone to my classroom. I would love to have this colorful rug and bean bag chairs in the back corner of my room so students can go there if they are in need of some mindfulness time during class. I also want to supply the fidgets for the Zen Zone, as technology will not be allowed. I selected fidgets that will be easy to sanitize; students will be welcome to use their own quiet fidgets as well. This Zen Zone will give students the time they need to reset themselves when they are feeling stressed out. These opportunities are crucial to give students the coping mechanisms and strategies they need to problem-solve effectively. I have also found that having a space for students to decompress helps them recover from stressful moments more effectively.
