The school year of 2020-2021 will be unlike any other. Due to COVID-19, teaching and student learning will look different from anything we ever imagined. The one thing that has not changed is my love of teaching. Each day, I look forward to seeing my students' smiling faces, whether it's in person or virtually. I love watching my fifth-graders grow academically and socially. Due to the lack of technology on the teachers' end, supporting learners online can be difficult. Many students depend on worksheet packets and whatever books they have at home. Despite the hardships they are facing with school being closed, they are eager to learn. This iPad and Pencil will provide me with a better chance to model mathematics, writing, reading, and plan better lessons that accommodate different learners with different needs in my online classroom. In addition, the iPad will be used as a tool to help me visually teach lessons, read books, provide interactive activities during small groups, and keep data on my students.
