During these unprecedented times many of my students are participating in distance learning. It can be very difficult to remain focused and engaged when you're learning from home. I am a reading intervention, all of my students are struggling readers and many of them have fallen further behind. They count on me to provide them with all the necessary instruction to help them become better readers. They're accustom to me sitting directly across the table listening to them read, modeling reading strategies, providing instruction in writing, and giving them the opportunity to use materials to build and segment words. A document camera will enhance their reading instruction and help make the learning process a little more normal. At this time there are limit resources for remote learning. Having a document camera will allow me to share with my students the same materials, tools and engaging books they have had in the past. It won't be the same as before, but better than it is right now.
