The students in my area of town are low income and most do not have books at home to read. This set of books will ensure that my students are reading literature that is on their reading level and will prepare them for the next grade level. With the Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards, I will purchase materials that will support books we have in our classroom to help deepen our understanding of what we are reading. I cannot stress enough how important it is that my students are practicing their reading at home each evening.
