I have realized that my students aren’t interested in a lot of the books that I currently have on my bookshelves. A lot of the books aren’t really written at a level that my kids need. Many of the books we currently have were inherited from a previous teacher, and some of them aren’t really in the best shape. My students need new books that are written at a reading level they can understand and that they will actually enjoy reading. Since my students typically struggle with school and with handling their emotions when they don’t want to do something, it’s really important that we make reading as fun as possible for them. With books like the I Survived series, the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series, and the Big Nate series, my students won’t be able to put their books down. All of the books in this project are written at anywhere between the 2nd grade and the 5th grade level, which is perfect for meeting my students where they currently are and for challenging them to improve their reading skills. Thank you!
