Many of my second graders are having difficulty with reading fluency and phonics skills. Improving their reading skills will help the students gain confidence and will help them in all subject areas. Doing activities on the computer is frustrating for many of my students, especially my English language learners, making it much more difficult to learn the skills they need to succeed. An iPad will support student learning and engagement during this time of distance learning. The iPad will help me to teach online and in the classroom once we return to campus. The iPad will also be a great support as I prepare to assess students online with reading assessments. The iPad will make online assessing manageable and easier to record and track student growth.
