Winters in Billings, Montana can be brutally cold. Explorers Academy, a Head Start program provides high quality preschool to low income families. Purchasing warm winter clothing poses a challenge during a normal year but COVID has made income security another challenge for them to overcome. My students attend school full time. We go outside twice a day for a total of an hour and a half. The cloth / knitted mittens that my students use absorb moisture making the children's hands colder than if they had no mittens on at all. Your donation of mittens will help us have a safe and fun time in our outdoor classroom all winter long.
