I am providing virtual speech teletherapy sessions for my students with communication disabilities. I need a computer that is fast and will allow me to use multiple applications at a time without crashing. A new computer will allow my students to clearly hear my voice and see my video during virtual speech therapy sessions. The computer that I am currently provided is not reliable and I often get kicked out of my own meetings. My students are often not able to clearly hear or see my video and therapy materials without significant lagging.
It is so important that my students have access to clear audio and video so they can actively participate in virtual speech-language therapy sessions.
A computer is a basic remote learning necessity, and without it, my students are unable to understand me or access our remote speech therapy sessions. I have many non-verbal students that require virtual pictures to support their language development. The Chromebook that my district provided me, does not provide the appropriate clarity. My students struggle with understanding simple sentences, simple directions, and expressing their basic wants and needs. They require the ability to hear clear audio and see clear visuals to make progress during remote speech therapy.
