Please help me give my students the tools they need to have a successful year in third grade! They will enjoy reading these amazing, educational magazines! Scholastic News Magazines will be used in a variety of ways in our classroom. The videos that accompany the magazine will be used to engage the students and build background knowledge for the students. Students will have opportunities to read the articles as a class, in small groups, and independently. During this time we will work on students' literacy skills by focusing on the vocabulary and different topics found in the text. To build reading comprehension students will participate in close reading activities, in addition to developing their writing skills by writing about the topics we are learning about.
