My energetic and silly kids love to run around at recess all year round. This time gives allows them to get their wiggles out and allow them to use their creativity. This is also a great time to work on building positive relationships and work on social skills. Our school is in Kansas, which means our Winters get very cold. I would love for my students to be able to have the items they need to stay nice and warm outside. I often have students that do not have gloves and hats, let alone scarves. It breaks my heard when they would rather stay inside for indoor recess instead of going outside to play. Having these items will allow us to go outside more often. I also have many students that walk to and from school on cold Winter days. These items will keep them warm while they are making their way to school. Each month I send students home with a book to keep. As our days are getting colder, I want me students to have something to do while they are inside. These books will provide students more options each month as they pick their book to take home. I want to keep my students bodies warm and their brains learning.
