With my students being the high needs population, they need the extra attention and support to succeed daily in the classroom. The abilities of my students vary between English Language Learners and students with reading disabilities to students that read above grade level. This makes it difficult to teach all of these students at once and meet them where they are. Due to remote learning, all of the Chromebooks that we had in our school, are no longer available to be used for student learning. With these tablets, students will be able to use a program called Lexia that will benefit them through explicit, systematic, and personalized learning. By using this program, they will be able to progress at their own pace and not become overwhelmed by the general pacing of the curriculum. Different students can use the tablets at times with this program so that I am able to work with a smaller group at the level that they need. This way, everyone gets the individualized learning along with teacher instruction at their level.
