My students have been spending a lot of hours on their laptop devices. We begin with a half hour spelling lesson at 8:15 in the morning. Students then work on other computer sites until it is time for their reading group (30-40 min.). They then have a break for lunch and return back at 12:00 p.m. for a Math lesson which runs from 45-55 minutes. They have a short 15 minute break, and then return for a 45 minute writing or science lesson that ends at 2:00 in the afternoon. Although they do take some short breaks, I am worried about the amount of screen time that they are spending on their laptops and would like them to have some protection.
