My students are in need of basic school supplies to help them continue in their distance learning. They are kindergarteners from many different socio-economic backgrounds and many families are unable to provide even the most basic of physical education equipment. This is their first time in school, and all most of them have access to at home is a scarf that we sent home at the beginning of the school year. As this is their first time with school we were hoping to make PE a more active, skill based experience--closer to what they would be experiencing if we were not in distance learning.
I am requesting only the most basic of supplies! I am looking to get a school set of bean bags-one for each student to use at home when they participate with me on Zoom. We will be able to work together on physical skills such as balance, tossing, and catching using this one simple item. These beanbags will also be beneficial once face-face instruction begins as each child will need their own bean bag when we return to in person learning.
These are uncertain times and with some encouragement and basic supplies provided, I am sure our kindergarteners will start their schooling career off on the right track.
