Science curriculum in the middle grades is challenging and often students don't see the relevance to their lives. This novel will serve to make that connection between what we are learning in the classroom to what is (or may be) happening out in the world. Current research and scientific advances have provided opportunities for sci-fi to become reality. Stem cell research and applications like digital printing of skin (right here in our home state) are exciting innovations. This novel will help provide engagement by connecting what we are learning in the classroom to a thrilling 'what if' scenario.
