Opportunity. Simply put, my project is about opportunities for students who don’t feel good about playing a sport, or a band instrument. Learning photography through yearbook will give a number of students a chance to develop skills around something they enjoy, while developing a sense of self-esteem through photography and yearbook. My school is on the grow, seeking out opportunities for all students. We are a growing school with a limited budget. Yearbook for the last five years has just gotten by with inexpensive point-and-shoot cameras and sporadic cellphone pictures. It’s time that we step-up our game and get quality camera equipment into the hands of our students to build their knowledge and skills around photography. We have a number of teachers and volunteers that are willing to work with the students, it’s just a matter of getting the right equipment. On behalf of all of my students, we thank you very much for your consideration in helping us reach our goal.
