The COVID-19 pandemic has led our school to make much needed updates to it's processes, procedures, and infrastructure. Included in these changes has been a modernization from the use of traditional water fountains to water bottle filling stations. Our goal is to promote personal and social safety amongst our students while also continuing to encourage practices that keep the body and mind happy and healthy with proper hydration throughout the school day. As a Title I school, many of our students are not able to afford even the basics needed to support their educational experience, let alone water bottles which, to this point, have not been viewed as a necessity with the availability of public water fountains spread around the school. The funding of this project will provide our school with water bottles that can be given to our students in need while we shift our community understanding about how to properly hydrate in a time when campus COVID-19 protocols must be followed for the safety for all.
