My students are returning to school and a small sense of normalcy. These backpacks filled with civic duty materials will encourage the importance of voting and being a great citizen at a young age. It will allow them to keep their supplies together as they return to learn. The presidential election is quickly approaching and students are at the perfect age to learn to use their voices in a monumental way. Students need to know their rights and how to vote in any election. These books will help teach my students about their constitutional right to vote and how using their voice is important. The students will participate in a mock election and select students will be given the backpacks with the materials and an "I voted sticker". This is a great way to promote good citizenship.
