I love my job as a Speech-Language Pathologist - giving children a voice is my absolute passion in life. My student's are mostly minimal or non-speaking communicators.
"For people without disabilities, technology makes things easier. For people with disabilities, technology makes things POSSIBLE!"
Alternative/Augmentative Communication is the best way for my students' voices to be heard. Help me give my students their voice by helping me fund an iPad, document camera, and Apple Pencil! These materials will allow them the tools to request for items, make comments, and fully participate in speech and tele-therapy sessions! My students will benefit from this project because high-tech communication allows them to say what is on their mind when the words are not available. Having an iPad will give me access to various communication apps for them to access vocabulary. Having an Apple Pencil will allow them various methods to physically access the device. Having a document camera, will allow them to continue to use this device while they are at home, during tele-therapy sessions.
