Sequoyah Middle School is the only Title I middle school in the Broken Arrow District. Many of my students have adult responsibilities besides trying to grow-up and maintain their grades. They are responsible for younger siblings when not in school, have jobs to help support their families, and act as translators for their parents that don't speak English. Even though many of them carry more responsibilities than most 8th graders, my students are just kids are heart. They keep me on my toes and up to date on the current teenage lingo. Their desire to be recognized and loved encourages me to make sure they know every day how special they are to me.
