As a first-year teacher, I am starting from the very beginning. I am requesting a variety of math and literacy centers to use during small group and whole group instruction. I am working to build a classroom environment that is rich in learning. Specifically, my students need resources to help with place value, subtraction, number lines, and more to grasp important math skills. My students need hands-on activities to increase their engagement and understanding of math skills. The number lines will help my students understand subtraction and addition. I am also requesting a variety of literacy centers to support their understanding of building words, sounding out words while building their comprehension skills. I am excited to embark on the journey of building a classroom that has the resources to support my students' diverse learning needs. The math and literacy centers will help increase engagement and allow my students to work independently at their desks to ensure we are staying safe during Covid-19. Thank you so much for helping me build a magnificent learning environment for my first grade scholars!
