The Nevada Academic Core Content Standards for World Language Standards 1-10 for the (K-8) level will be addressed with this project. Students will perform at the Novice and Novice-Mid level in French language after completion of this course. Students will use puppets and dramatic play items to utilize the French language skills they are acquiring in a fun and real-world context. Bingo games, objects and "storytelling" books will be utilized to practice and reinforce langue acquisition as well as assist the teacher with integrating the TPRS (Total Physical Response through Storytelling) approach to address language and SEAD competencies. The new Nevada standards are aligned with ACTFL and address the 5C's of language acquisition. In addition, the 5 Nevada SEAD competencies are fully embedded in the classroom and school-wide partnership approach to langue development and cultural competency.
