Students grow their reading skills through reading. All of my students are 3-4 grade levels behind in reading. Text books are boring, and libraries are sometimes inaccessible. By having a little library in my office, I can encourage my SPED students to read 5 minutes a day and help build the skill they are lacking in. Reading books that are fun and ones that they can identify with will help them grow a lifetime love for reading. These books will make it possible for my students to read at home.
