My students are in a high poverty area and have had a very inconsistent art program for the last few years due to budget cuts. I have over 20 years experience teaching art, so I have a lot of project ideas that are fun and inspiring for students. I want them to have the best experience possible but there are very few supplies on hand for them. There are some drawing materials and paint, but no paintbrushes or quality paper. Having proper supplies increases confidence because the end result is more successful. The students have expressed a desire to be able to paint once they get back to school. Because of Covid, they can't share solid in a typical fashion so I'm trying to get enough for each student. These students deserve the same opportunity as suburban schools that have better funding. Help me to help them unleash their creative side!
