Technology fatigue is only one of the challenges of the Pandemic that students are struggling with as they creep into our classrooms. Face masks are to be worn all day and assignments are being completed and submitted via computers. Technology has become a large component of their daily lives and often they are sitting and working online for 6 or more hours a day. They are feeling the effects that these devices can have on us and it is impacting their ability to focus. Students are returning to the classroom but have so many restrictions on them. No movement in or around the classroom, no sharing of materials with classmates, stay 6 ft away from your friends, no taking off your mask, and no playing on playground equipment at recess are just a few! Our children need to feel welcomed and comfortable in a building where masks and face shields will cover most emotions. My goal is that this project will help bring some comfort to their day, some ease to their technology usage, and to create an area where they feel they can succeed, no matter what obstacles they may face this school year.
