My classroom is filled with students working to learn letters, reading comprehension, and literacy skills. I am seeking new resources and supplies to help my 3 to 5 year-old students as they explore letter recognition and practice writing. An audio and writing center will help my students enjoy learning to read, write, and develop critical thinking skills comfortably and interactively. The items in my cart will create a fun listening center where students can read along to favorite and new books with the corresponding audiotapes. Children at this stage are actively building phonological awareness. They will enjoy and benefit from seeing the words on the book pages while simultaneously hearing them read aloud. The desk will provide a comfortable place for students to practice reading and writing. My goal for this space is to ignite creativity and inspire exploration as they learn new concepts in a comfortable setting. Students will have better visibility and access to writing materials, mixed media and other resources they need to motivate writing and literacy skills. Support will enable my students to learn and enhance skills and gain confidence in themselves and their abilities.
