My school garden club would like to learn to grow plants for our garden from seeds. We would start indoors before the last frost of the season to get a head start on our garden. We harvested cone flower seeds from our garden this fall, and would like to focus on adding new native plants and some vegetables this year. I will be teaching a gardening summer school class where we will care for our seedlings, along with the rest of our current perennials and fruit bushes. Not only do we want our garden to be a beautiful and peaceful place for students to enjoy, we'd like it to produce food as well! Students will be learning gardening skills that they can use throughout their lives. With food insecurity a factor in many communities, I'd like students to learn to grow their own food and help their own families and community.
