Technology is propelling our world into a new dimension. Children are taught from a young age how to navigate on a tablet. In most cases, they use this for purely entertainment purposes. In my case, I want to use their love of technology to fill in any educational gaps created by the pandemic with learning rich apps. The students are always FIRED UP and ready to hop on a tablet and get busy...without even realizing they are learning! Apps such as Dreamscape and Prodigy have become a fan favorite in my classroom. I also utilize apps such as XtraMath, Epic, BrainPop Jr., IXL, 2nd Grade Learning Games, and so many more. The kids are engaged in learning on the tablets while I work in small group reading or math. Currently, I have only 10 outdated iPads to split among 25 students. Sometimes the iPads work, and sometimes they do not. Purchasing 7 new Fire Kid Pro tablets will replace the outdated technology I have and enable me to make a more reliable tablet work station while I teach in small groups and close those educational gaps.
