Whether it is looking at the marvelous pictures in a picture book or learning a new exciting fact from a nonfiction book, reading can do wonders for kids. Growing up as a student, I fell in love with reading and that is something that I am passing along to my students as best I can. Teaching virtual has not been easy especially with these little learners as they need to be able to touch those books physically, turn the pages, and point to the words as they learn to read. My classroom library is one of my favorite areas in my class room. I love being able to look for books for mini lessons or just as a simple read aloud. It is important to me that my students have a good selection of books they are able to choose from that are right at their Independent reading level. Not only will my student be able to find something that interests them right at their own independent reading level, but we will be able to share fun read aloud together about issues going on in the world, fun holidays, or when we just need a good class laugh.
