As the social worker at my school, I help my diverse students be their best to learn everyday. This includes providing a safe space to decompress and relax when things get overwhelming. Having these sensory materials will help students who are developing their coping skills be more comfortable and successful at school. I work hard to make my office a safe space for students, and with these materials I will be able to ensure that students feel emotionally and physically safe at school. Sensory tools such as these are critical to help students begin to learn to self-regulate on their own.
