Mastering reading foundational skills is an impressive feat for little learners! All students, but especially those needing extra support in reading, benefit from using phonics manipulatives to help solidify those oh-so-important early literacy skills. Creating the word "cat" using a fun pencil game, magnets, or letter tiles provides enjoyable opportunities for students to become successful vs only reading the word on a worksheet. Plus, tactile objects lend themselves well to differentiation and the ability for the teacher to target specific skills through wordplay. So many uses to further deepen students' understanding and learning!
