This year has been very difficult for everyone, due to the pandemic. This year has been especially difficult for students to learn while staying safe and using manipulatives independently. Even though we have some manipulatives for students, it is difficult to provide manipulatives for each child individually. Because our priority right know is to keep everyone healthy and avoid a spread, we are trying to only use manipulatives once a day, with only having one child use these materials once. This makes it difficult for all students to get an opportunity to use and learn with all the manipulatives that we have in the classroom. Because of this I feel that having these manipulatives will give children the opportunity to grow more academically. These materials will allow them the opportunity to have the hands on experience that they need academically and independently.
