Calculators play key role in attaining understanding of many 7th grade math learning targets. When we do not have uniform tools to complete assignments as successfully as our peers, then it makes it that much harder to succeed in math. Having calculators provided for every student in math class is a safe way for students that aren't able to come to school with that important tool to be able to use the classroom calculator since ALL peers are using the same quality calculator that will be able to help towards understanding the 7th grade math learning targets. We need this specific calculator because we need to utilize the Pi button, parenthesis, squaring button, and other key features that the cheaper calculators don't provide students access to. This classroom set would be incredibly valuable to all 5 math periods of students that I teach as the set would be intentionally assigned a number and checked out every math period. It would be such a valuable donation to a well deserved bunch of kiddos that could use it!
