Spending the last 7 months at home has taken a toll. A toll on our sense of connection with others, our and social skills, and our overall mental health. The string lights provide an escape from the florecent lighting. With the carpet squares students can keep safe while social distancing. My project will provide the tools to create a safe and inviting space unlike any other in the building. When items are donated to my classroom students will enter my room and find a sense of peace and calm. I want my students to feel like they can drop their worries at the door the moment they enter my classroom.
