Often times, my students feel the need to stand up or move around during instruction. This is caused by physical disabilities as well as discomfort. I was fortunate to receive a set of bean bags last school year and this adjustment made such a huge impact in the classroom. Unfortunately, after a year the bean bags have lost their shape and have become heavily damaged with rips and tears. My goal is to remove all of the traditional classroom desk and use these chairs during the school day. When we break into small groups, these chairs can be picked up by the students and moved to a new location. Also, cleaning and sanitizing these chair each day will be simple and the students can do this themselves. The crash pad that I'm requesting, will be a great tool for students who need a few minutes to regroup. This will provide them with a comfortable platform to release any frustration. Also, like the bean bags this material is easy to clean and can be sanitized daily.
