Students will continue to engage in Social Emotional Learning at home to reinforce what they’ve learned in school to nurture their mental health and wellness. Engaging in mindfulness activities and the expressive arts in school can help teens to get grounded, explore their interests, and learn important skills such as self regulation and mindfulness. The art materials would help students de-escalate in a classroom space as needed and/or engage in healing voluntarily as sometimes talk therapy and verbal expression can be limited. Many students at NMHS appreciate the resources and art supplies as they certainly stimulate creative and artistic expression.
