In first grade students are expected to jump 6 reading levels. That's a HUGE jump! It can be very difficult to teach students how to read and to get them to want to practice reading. This individual practice is extremely important for them to grow as a reader. I am requesting complete collection of Elephant and Piggie books! I must expose students to high interest books to create a love for reading. This love for reading is what will help students become strong readers. In my past two years of teaching, I have learned that students LOVE Elephant and Piggie books. I need these books to add to my classroom library to help expose children to high interest books. My goal is to make sure that every student in my class grows those six reading levels by the end of the school year. Please help me foster a love for reading in my class!
