This rug will promote independent mobility without the deterring negative effects of falling on the hard floor. Rugs would answer the majority of their problems navigating the classroom, and would in turn, promote more independence and self-advocacy in those who need it the most. My students are currently here at school with me, and are thriving their way through pandemic learning. Both students are learning to walk, or have only recently been able to walk, and could use more support. Encouragement and grit are what keep my students moving forward toward their education goals, and this rug would be a step in the right direction.
