All of these products will allow my students more access to various functional, pre-vocational, and life skills training. By giving them the opportunity to explore these skills in a safe environment, my students will be better prepared to handle the pressures of navigating the real world after their educational journey is complete. The Teachers Pay Teachers gift card will go towards fun and creative pre-made functional lessons for the students that they loved participating in last year (Visual recipes, reading comprehension worksheets, science topics, etc). Functional math skills will be a major area of focus as my students are getting older and need to learn the importance of money and money management. Students will also be learning new pre-vocational skills throughout the school year (sweeping etc). Additional materials will be used to complete arts & crafts (glue, scissors, etc.) activities that go along with our weekly lessons! By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student independence, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement too! I feel confident that adding new materials and manipulatives to my teaching routines in the fall will help my students thrive in the coming months!
