Studies have shown that students are reading less and less. My goal with buying these books is that, by having them available in the classroom, students will pick them up and be intrigued to read more. I can’t wait until I am able to place these books onto my bookshelf in my classroom. My students always get excited when I tell them that I’ve gotten more books just for them. I have seen so many students actually read because there are mangas or graphic novels available to them. Many of the books on this list are books called Manga Classics. These books are classic books that are illustrated and put into Manga format. However, they are still being exposed to books that span the ages and have impacted society. I have had students, who don’t usually read, find themselves obsessed with books simply because the book is a graphic novel or manga version of a classic novel. Please help me with buying books for my classroom library. I want to be able to help every student find a book that they can get into. Hopefully, one of these books will reach a student who has really never read for fun before.
