The students at my school are some of the best kids I've ever worked with! They deserve a warm and inviting space to participate in counseling services. We were able to find a grant to bring mental health counseling to our students in the building. This was huge because a lot of their parents work long hours and are unable to afford to take their children for services outside of the workday. When the mental health counselor is here, they use my back office space. It is dated and sad. The chairs are from 20 years ago. I plan to freshen the space up with some paint but could use the help with furniture. Updating the space will truly help students feel valued and comfortable. With at-home learning becoming more of a possibility, I have created my own Canvas class to push mental health resources out to kids. This includes check-ins and lessons. Using Teachers-Pay-Teachers is extremely helpful in this process as I'm now teaching more classes and checking in with more students than ever before. Making the Canvas learning platform an inviting place with great resources has become just as important as my back office space. Thank you so much for your consideration and your generosity for all students!
