This is my first year ever as a teacher, and I am working really hard to supply my first graders with the best education I can while teaching remotely. Unfortunately, my district is of low socioeconomic status and cannot provide me with a document camera. I think a document camera would make a world of difference for my online learners! I can show them how to use manipulatives for math, display physical books for interactive read-alouds and guided reading, demonstrate clearly how to draw their letters, write clear lists for writing ideas, create illustrations, and more! I would do most of my teacher-guided lessons using the document camera in nearly all subjects, which in turn would really support all my learners--especially since so many of them are English learners and visuals are a big plus!
